On Animals (Dr. Anna Sekhar)

1.
Animals - they are who they are,
Their true selves, with no screen
To hide behind; no drama no nonsense-
just real beings!
Animals- they shower love, untainted and true,
caring not for wealth, status and name;
A lesson for every stingy human who weigh others in dollars.
Animals - an embodiment of sincerity and
faithful companions in joy and pain.
More trust I place in their loyal, honest hearts
than in prideful, jealous, greedy humans
who chase hollow gains.

2.
An animal knows not how to act,
it simply is with no screen too hide behind;
An animal knows not if you are wealthy,
Its love remains true and unconditional;
An animal knows not your status,
It remains your loyal companion always;
An animal cares not about your home;
Wherever you live becomes its home;
An animal cares nothing about your looks,
It sees only the love from your heart;
Do humans realise how many lessons these creatures teach us?
Animals are wiser and humbler than
humans who pair intelligence with arrogance.

3.
Before you demean an animal
Remember you are an animal yourself;
Before you scoff at and delude an animal
Remember animals simply are who they are;
Before you think yourself superior to an animal
Remember animals are more trustworthy than humans;
Before you boast of your intelligence, remember,
animals are in no way inferior in their thinking and empathy.
Humans are that ungrateful branch of Homo Sapiens;
animals more often far superior.

4.
An animal is an animal true to its genre;
An animal is never insidious and
knows not malice unless harmed;
An animal never judges anyone
be it its own clan or others;
An animal is true to its genetic quality and
knows not how to act in front of anyone –
be it human or whoever!
Would you call a human true companion or
an animal who cares not about the car you drive
and the size of television and the rooms in your home.
A leaf to take for every avaricious human
who wants to know one another with wealth as the barometer.

5.
Rather than calling it an animal,
Respect it as a living being -
It has a soul like you and me.
Rather than seeing it as an animal
Who cannot speak like humans,
Know that you and I do not understand its language;
Rather than thinking it has no feelings,
Realise it holds emotions superior to those of an insidious human;
Rather than claiming it has only five senses,
Reflect, see and learn that it has a
common sense far wiser than ours.

6.
Animals, is it the best way to call them?
Animals, are they meant to be prisoned at home?
Animals, is it fair to train them the way we want?
Animals, is it good to feed them what we think is best?
Animals, is it justified to separate their young from its mother?
Animals, is it human to use them as your labourer?
Animals are meant to be in wild, left to be who they are,
allowed to eat what they want and nurture
their young the way they want. Leaving them alone is being respectful.
