1.
Education is continuous learning
And can never be termed complete;
Education means continuous change
Not for the bitter but for the better;
Education is acquiring wisdom
And knowing to use it appropriately;
Education is not bookish knowledge
But that you gain through life's teachings.
Learn it well.
2.
Earning a degree does not make
A person educated and wise;
That degree you earn is just
A sheet of paper with some scribbles
In a language you cannot decipher,
Cannot make you wise and august.
Education is more about how you
Hold yourself and behave when amidst a society.
3.
Calling yourself educated is only when
You stand true to your degree, work;
Calling yourself educated is valid when
You uphold yourself true to your alumni;
Calling yourself educated is true when
You have a synergy of thought, speech and actions.
When your tongue goes beyond limits,
you are comparable to an illiterate.
4.
Your degree means nothing if you
cannot live up to the learning;
Your position becomes null if you
Cannot uphold that societal status;
Your earnings becomes defunct if you
Cannot live a decent, comfortable life;
Your respect goes down the drain
when you are intrusive and scoff others.
5.
When your mind is all about another,
When your conversations are completely on another;
When you form cartels against another;
When you demean another knowing
Nothing about the other;
you do not gain any reward
for your misdeeds; it is a
display of poor culture.
6.
A degree written on a piece of paper
Does not qualify you as educated!
When you have empathy and kindness,
When you are non-judgemental and
When you stop scoffing and mocking;
When your comments on others are
less belligerent and cantankerous;
You are an educated human.
make a choice. Do so wisely.
7.
When you possess no qualities
of a truly educated, how are you called one?
When your behaviour is to demean others
like as if you are perfect,
how do you claim yourself as learned?
When your talks are not worthy of hearing,
what qualifies you as educated?
Your degree is worth nothing when you
cannot stand true to your education
and your profession. You would fit in well in
the 'Hall of Shame' and not ' Hall of Fame.'
